Coromandel Peninsula
Rustic, relaxed and unspoiled, the Coromandel is one of New

from Auckland. The rugged volcanic hills are cloaked in native
rainforest, and more than 400 kilometres of spectacular coastline
promises you can find the beach of your dreams. The Coromandel is a

calming greenness of the Kauri forest.
Inspired by the region's idyllic setting, many artists and crafts people have made the Coromandel their home - visitors to the area are welcome in their studios. The area's fascinating history is evident in gold mining relics, logging dams and ancient Maori pa sites. The past can also be found in the charming colonial architecture and historical buildings preserved in several towns around the region.
Driving through the Coromandel you will be bewildered by the Pohutukawa trees that dominate the Thames-Coromandel coastal road that bloom in spring and early summer. The flowering trees are a spectacular sight, like crimson velvet against the blue sky. Visit the various marine reserves throughout the area. The large snapper and oversized crayfish live permanently in these marine reserve waters, and they're not afraid of people. For some of New Zealand's most beautiful, most untouched beaches, look no further than the Coromandel.
Whitianga
Whitianga is the main settlement of Mercury Bay. Its harbour has made Whitianga the departure point for big game fishing enthusiasts. Many charter boats ply the waters of Mercury Bay for fishing or scenic cruising. There are fish to catch and shellfish to gather; the relatively sheltered waters of the bay are great for all water sports. On land there are bush walks and horse trekking over picturesque farmland; or check out the local artists who reside in our area, renown for its inspirational landscape.
Pauanui
Pauanui is one of New Zealand's best known resort towns. Its white sandy beaches surrounded by green bush clad hills, and the magnificent fishing waters surrounding the Mercury Islands, Slipper Island, The Aldermans, Mayor Island and others, make Pauanui an ideal location for a permanent residence or holiday home. The township has its own airfield, tennis courts, golf courses, including the recently opened ING International Golf Course.
Matarangi

Whangamata
