Fiji and South Pacific

There are more than 3,000 little islands in the tropical South
Pacific and they have long been the stuff of the escapist's dreams
- especially for city dwellers.
Amazingly, the legendary islands are still relatively untouched. It's not difficult in Fiji or the Cook Islands, for example, to find quiet lagoons edged by white sand beaches and coconut palms; or to venture into the lush rainforest, or to visit an out-of-the way village which has been virtually unchanged for centuries.
There are just 15 islands in the centre of the Polynesian Triangle, flanked to the west by Tonga and Samoa and to the east by Tahiti and the islands of French Polynesia. As a region, the South Pacific is filled with outstanding attractions; these enchanting islands and beautiful people have for hundreds of years stirred the mind and excited the imagination.
Many people come to the South Pacific for the balmy weather, the beautiful beaches and the fascinating bird and marine life. Many people return though, for the relaxed pace of life.
Fiji
A stunning tropical paradise, Fiji is no longer a destination just for those wanting a few weeks' winter holiday in a hotel-style resort. With exquisite scenery, pristine, picture-perfect beaches and some of the world's friendliest people, Fiji is now viewed as a premium real estate investment location. And with its exceptional waterfront properties, more and more people are choosing Fiji as their preferred beachside property location.
A multi-racial, multi-cultural nation, Fiji is an independent country stretching across 333 islands. Only 100 are inhabited, with most of the nearly 900,000 population living in the two main islands of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.
Surprisingly, many of Fiji's legendary islands remain untouched, and it's not difficult to find tropical pieces of paradise like those seen in tourist magazines and holiday brochures - quiet lagoons edged with white sandy beaches, coconut palms and warm, turquoise waters. Beautiful coral reefs, teeming with marine life make the islands a mecca for snorkelling and diving.
